Responsibilities
- Coordinates and delivers high quality, patient-centered care in accordance with department nature and specific requirements, and consistent with scope and standards of practice for the relevant state and specialty.
- Collaborates with medical providers and other care team members to provide individualized, comprehensive, and compassionate care using established nursing models such as “Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage.”
- Serves as an advocate for patients/families/caregivers and models commitment to the organization’s vision/mission/values to support an unparalleled patient experience and clinical outcomes that contribute to overall departmental performance.
- Assesses patient pain regularly to promote effective pain management, including reassessments after appropriate intervention.
- Performs procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s).
- Documents the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner.
- Provides exceptional care by responding promptly to patient requests.
