Organization Overview

The Stanley M. Isaacs Neighborhood Center (Isaacs Center) is a non-profit, multi-service organization focusing primarily on the needs of children and low-income families, out-of-school and out-of-work youth, and aging New Yorkers. We operate at community centers located in the neighborhoods of East Harlem and Yorkville, and seek to deliver programs that are impactful, innovative, and intergenerational. Goddard Riverside Community Center (GRCC) is a well-established Manhattan community-based agency with an annual operating budget of approximately $30 million. GRCC is one of New York City's leading human service organizations meeting the basic needs of children, youth and families, homeless people, and older adults through 25-plus programs at 22 sites across Manhattan.

Position Summary

Reporting to the Aging Services Program Director, the NORC Manager of Outreach and Program Development will be responsible for leading the implementation of outreach initiatives, conducting/supervising community outreach, developing and overseeing activities and events programming for NORC members, providing coordination for supplementary services e.g. food distribution as well as health promotion events; coordinating meetings of partners; providing case assistance and case management. The NORC Manager focuses on the satisfaction of the members, consultants, and community participants' overall experience from initial engagement and participation in programming through constant effective communication and interaction. The NORC Manager will build a relationship-based membership that moves members, consultants, and community participants along a continuum from a casual connection to a committed level of involvement and the delivery of the appropriate programs and activities to ensure an engaging, energetic environment for all members of the social, wellness and recreational programs.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the implementation of outreach initiatives
  • Conduct and supervise community outreach
  • Develop and oversee activities and events programming for NORC members
  • Provide coordination for supplementary services (e.g., food distribution) and health promotion events
  • Coordinate meetings of partners
  • Provide case assistance and case management
  • Build a relationship-based membership that moves members, consultants, and community participants along a continuum from casual connection to committed involvement
  • Deliver appropriate programs and activities to ensure an engaging, energetic environment for all members of social, wellness, and recreational programs

Pay

$66,300-$75,000
