About the role
The College of Liberal Arts seeks to develop a pool of candidates for possible temporary/nontenured faculty to teach in English. For information about the department visit the Department of English.
Responsibilities
- Teach one to four courses per semester.
- Teaching appointments are based upon student demand on a semester-by-semester basis.
- Eligibility for annual reappointment is contingent upon satisfactory annual performance evaluations during the term period, in addition to continuity of funding and departmental need.
- Successful candidates may teach at the San Marcos and Round Rock campuses and/or online, depending on the needs of the academic department.
Requirements
- PhD in English or related field required.
- Experience teaching at the college level preferred.
- Ability to teach a range of courses in English literature, composition, and/or rhetoric.
Qualifications
- Strong commitment to teaching and student learning.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Skills
- Effective classroom management skills.
- Ability to adapt to changing course demands.
- Experience with online teaching platforms.
Pay
Salary is commensurate with experience.
