Nontenure Line Faculty Pool - English

About the role

The College of Liberal Arts seeks to develop a pool of candidates for possible temporary/nontenured faculty to teach in English. For information about the department visit the Department of English.

Responsibilities

• Teach one to four courses per semester.
• Teaching appointments are based upon student demand on a semester-by-semester basis.
• Eligibility for annual reappointment is contingent upon satisfactory annual performance evaluations during the term period, in addition to continuity of funding and departmental need.
• Successful candidates may teach at the San Marcos and Round Rock campuses and/or online, depending on the needs of the academic department.

Requirements

• PhD in English or related field required.
• Experience teaching at the college level preferred.
• Ability to teach a range of courses in English literature, composition, and/or rhetoric.

Qualifications

• Strong commitment to teaching and student learning.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Skills

• Effective classroom management skills.
• Ability to adapt to changing course demands.
• Experience with online teaching platforms.

Pay

Salary is commensurate with experience.
