About the role

We're looking for a leader who can take the big-picture executive view while understanding the details that make senior services and community operations successful. The Executive Director Will Provide strategic leadership for Converse County Aging Services and its mission to serve older adults and the community.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with the Board of Directors on governance, organizational strategy, policy, and long-term direction.
  • Lead, support, and develop the organization's leadership team and staff.
  • Provide executive oversight of senior center operations in Douglas and Glenrock, including programs, services, facilities, staffing, and community activities.
  • Ensure senior center programs and services are responsive to the needs of older adults, caregivers, families, and the broader community.
  • Oversee organizational compliance, risk management, policies, contracts, service agreements, and regulatory requirements.
  • Work closely with Finance & Administration leadership on budgets, financial reporting, grants, cash flow, internal controls, and long-term financial sustainability.
  • Support program leadership and promote high-quality, person-centered service delivery.
  • Help ensure CCAS facilities and senior centers remain safe, welcoming, accessible, and community-focused.
  • Build strong relationships with community partners, healthcare organizations, local governments, funding agencies, donors, volunteers, businesses, and other stakeholders.
  • Represent CCAS as a visible and engaged leader throughout Converse County.
  • Advocate for the needs and interests of older adults and aging communities.
  • Develop strong organizational systems, processes, and accountability measures.
  • Identify opportunities to strengthen programs, services, partnerships, funding, and community engagement.
  • Help position CCAS for long-term growth, sustainability, and continued community impact.

Requirements

The right Executive Director will be comfortable moving between boardroom strategy and community connection—from reviewing a budget or grant proposal to visiting a senior center, talking with staff, meeting with community partners, or listening to the people CCAS serves.

Qualifications

  • Strong executive leadership and communication skills.
  • Strategic thinking and organizational planning abilities.
  • Financial literacy and comfort with budgets, financial reports, grants, and organizational finances.
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience leading teams and organizational operations.
  • An understanding of senior center operations, aging services, community-based services, or programs serving older adults is preferred.
  • Excellent relationship-building and community engagement skills.
  • Professionalism, integrity, accountability, and sound judgment.
  • A genuine commitment to serving older adults, supporting independence, and strengthening communities.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Nonprofit Management, Public Administration, Human Services, Gerontology, Social Services, or a related field is preferred, along with 3-5 years of leadership or management experience.
  • Equivalent leadership experience may be considered.

This isn't a position for someone who wants to simply keep the wheels turning. We're looking for someone who can lead, plan, make decisions, develop people, understand the numbers, manage complexity, strengthen operations, and build relationships.

Benefits

Starting salary: $80,000 annually, with consideration given to experience and qualifications. CCAS Offers Paid Time Off (PTO), Paid Sick Leave, Medical insurance - employee portion paid by CCAS, Wyoming retirement pension, and additional benefits in accordance with CCAS Policies. Relocation assistance may be available.
