Non-Tenure: Clinical Faculty
About the role
Texas A&M University College of Nursing seeks four part-time faculty members with experience in academic nursing education to serve at clinical sites in and around the Bryan-College Station area. The primary responsibility is the education of students in the clinical setting.
Responsibilities
- Develop new courses according to curriculum and accreditation standards.
- Prepare course materials and examinations that are current, evaluated, and revised to improve student learning.
- Teach effectively in the classroom, clinical settings, and/or online environment.
- Select and manage quality clinical learning experiences in a variety of settings.
- Provide competent clinical supervision of students.
- Evaluate student performance effectively.
- Advise and mentor students for academic success.
- Maintain posted office hours.
- Collaborate with and mentor faculty peers.
- Maintain clinical currency and relevant certifications.
Requirements
- Possesses a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and is currently enrolled in a master’s program in nursing with at least 50% of coursework completed; or holds a BSN and a master’s degree in another field, along with relevant graduate-level nursing credits.
- Two or more years of recent nursing practice experience.
- Experience teaching face-to-face or online at the baccalaureate level.
Qualifications
- Master of Science in Nursing preferred.
Skills
- Ability to teach in various settings.
- Experience in a clinical specialty area of nursing.
- Experience in rural nursing or nursing care of underserved populations.
- Experience with mental health clients, pediatrics, adult health, or medical-surgical nursing.
