GENERAL DUTIES

Prepare Cash/treasury entries in PeopleSoft.

Analyze data and prepare journal entries for reclassifications, accruals, etc.

Record payments from third party vendors.

Calculate, analyze, transfer, and record student related fees.

Aid Associate Budget Director with preparing budget transfers and journals.

In collaboration with Academic Affairs, Budget Office and Accounting Office, reconcile Income Fund Reimbursable (IFR) accounts and prepare journal entries as required.

Prepares Expense reconciliations as part of semi-annual close process.

Analyze and review umbrella accounts and ensure timely recording of reclassifications.

Analyze balance sheet accounts, ensure prior year balances are reclassified timely.

Aid with year-end audit including preparation of financial statements, notes, MDA and supporting schedules.

Perform other duties as assigned.

The Graduate Center of the City University of New York (CUNY) is the focal point for advanced teaching and research at CUNY, the nation's largest urban public university.

The position reports to the Associate Budget Director. This is an in-person position for two (2) days a week up to 100 hours in July and August 2026, up to 225 hours for fall 2026, up to 225 hours for the spring 2027, and up to 75 hours for June 2027.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's Degree required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 4 years of relevant experience
  • Solid budget experience
  • Advanced Excel skills (v-lookup, pivot tables, advanced formulas)
  • Excellent writing skills
  • Strong analytical ability
  • Advanced degree or CPA
  • PeopleSoft experience

COMPENSATION

$63.55/hr- $71.25/hr (Hourly rate will increase to $65.78/hr - $73.75/hr as of 9/1/26 per the PSC contract).
