Non-Credit Adjunct
About the role
Adjunct Faculty positions are temporary, part-time positions hired each semester on an as-needed basis. The adjunct faculty member will be responsible for creating a learning environment that assists client and/or students in reaching their training goals; and for providing effective instruction and assessment within the framework of common syllabi provided by the school.
Responsibilities
- Deliver non-credit classes as assigned.
- Teach and train classes as assigned in workplace and campus locations within programming designed to meet specific learning objectives.
- Teach a flexible schedule as dictated by the client company training demand.
- Makes optimal use of available technology to enhance instructional methods.
- Develops/maintains course outlines, syllabi, lesson plans, assignments, tests, and materials.
- Maintains accurate student records, grades, and other requirements.
- Initiate and follow through on evaluation processes that determine the viability of each training program delivered.
- Afford assistance in the identification of facility and equipment needs in the classroom.
- Participate in training and professional development as needed.
- Conduct all activities with an appreciation and respect for people, styles, and views. Interacts with students and co-workers in a professional and cooperative manner, complies with College policies, campus guidelines and expectations.
Requirements
Subject Matter Expert or education and experience commensurate with the subject being taught, or any required certifications of the course content. Must demonstrate ability to promote an environment that reflects the broad backgrounds represented by our students and employees and which every individual feels respected and valued.
Qualifications
All responsibilities will be conducted within the parameters of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), other applicable regulatory requirements, and professional standards.
Skills
Must have the ability to teach effectively in a non-credit setting, possess excellent communication skills, and be able to work independently and as part of a team.
