Non-Student Short-Term Casual (SHPEP/MedPrep Preceptor)

Responsibilities

• Understand the overall goals and objectives of the programs.
• Attend job orientation and training sessions (dates to be determined).
• Develop syllabus for assigned course(s).
• Attend programs’ briefing and debriefing sessions as well as special program ceremonies.
• Conduct meetings with Program Facilitators to discuss course progress and related feedback as well as course management updates to prepare for upcoming class sessions.
• Prepare lectures and related materials prior to each scheduled course session.
• Lead the execution of lessons planned for each scheduled class session and arrange for a substitute if a session must be missed.
• Host office hours to meet with program scholars throughout the duration of the program.
• Prepare, administer, and grade a pre-test, mid-term exam and final exam for evaluation of scholars and provide grades for progress assessments.

Qualifications

• Affiliation with Columbia University through a graduate level program.
• Education and training in science and/or mathematics.
• Previous teaching experience.
• Demonstration of leadership and organizational skills.
