About the role

Helps establish and implement goals, objectives, policies, procedures, and systems for the assigned clinical areas. Participates in the development and implementation of clinical plans. Selects, trains, orients, and supervises departmental personnel. Responsible for work assignments and daily operations. Evaluates performance and recommends merit increases, promotions, and disciplinary actions. Resolves problems in clinical areas and ensures compliance with regulations and standards. Assists fiscal management and other administrative staff in developing and implementing cost-effective policies and procedures for all clinical areas, including billing, insurance, fee schedules, credit/collections, purchasing, and space planning. Monitors and controls clinical expenditures to remain within budget. Serves as a liaison between the clinic and external agencies. Works with medical staff to ensure quality patient care and services are provided. Participates in professional development activities to stay current with healthcare trends and practices. Maintains strictest confidentiality.

Requirements

  • Graduate from a recognized training facility for medical assistants, and coursework in health care office management are preferred. Additional appropriate experience as a Medical Assistant may be substituted for the education requirement.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in a medical office, acute care, or clinical outpatient setting is required.
  • A minimum of one year of previous supervisory experience in a medical office, acute care, or outpatient setting is required.
  • No license requirements.
