Non-Destructive Quality Test Specialist

Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is seeking talented individuals for a Non-Destructive Test (NDT) Quality Specialist (Level 3 or 4) to support our Quality team in North Charleston, South Carolina on a Variable shift. Responsibilities

• Reviews and validates product non-conformances and disposition type, quality procedures
• Performs setup for specialized non-destructive test or measurement equipment
• Performs tests or inspections and collects data
• Documents, analyzes and communicates results and assists with corrective action recommendations
• Utilizes technical competencies to provide feedback on adverse trends
• Responsible for non-destructive testing and acceptance of repairs to company products
• Conducts on-the-job training (OJT)
• Adheres to Boeing policies, processes and major inspection methods procedures

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in NDI (non-destructive inspection) or NDT (non-destructive test)
• 3+ years of experience inspecting parts, components, assemblies, or units
• Current or prior NAS410 or equivalent certified Level 2 in Ultrasonic Testing; must have documented evidence available for Boeing Level 3 review
• Current or prior NAS410 or equivalent certified Level 2 in Eddy Current Testing; must have documented evidence available for Boeing Level 3 review
• Willing to work variable shifts, including weekends and overtime
• Capable of working in confined spaces
• Able to perform work at heights up to 50 feet above ground level with appropriate safety gear
• Applicable and appropriate educational/certification credentials from an accredited institution and/or equivalent experience is required
• Must submit documented evidence of certification at time of application submission

Preferred Qualifications

• Current or prior NAS410 or equivalent certified Level 2 in Eddy Current, Penetrant and/or Magnetic Particle and/or Radiography Testing; must have documented evidence available for Boeing Level 3 review
• Experience analyzing and interpreting Ultrasonic C-scans
• Digital radiography, liquid penetrant, magnetic particle experience
• Able to fit through a 10" X 18" oval opening
• Experience inspecting composite material
• 3+ years of experience writing NDT procedures and techniques
• Understanding of Continuous Improvement methodologies

Pay

• Level 3: $68,000 - $92,000
• Level 4: $79,900 - $108,100

Schedule

This position is for a variable shift (shift 4). Variable shift means you will be assigned a shift at the time of hire based on business needs. You will remain on your assigned work shift until a re-evaluation is required. Shifts assigned for training may differ from your permanent work shift.
