About the role

The NDT Engineering Technician performs non-destructive tests on various materials and products. They set up and maintain equipment, ensure calibration for tests, conduct inspections of materials, parts, and assemblies using automated and manual methods, and interpret, evaluate, and report test results.

Responsibilities

  • Works on non-destructive testing assignments of routine nature and limited complexity following established procedures where limited judgment is required.
  • Assists higher-level NDT Technicians by performing standard non-destructive testing inspections on components, parts, and assemblies.
  • Assists in setting up and calibrating equipment under the direct observation of higher-level NDT Technicians.
  • Assists in preparing components for non-destructive testing inspection utilizing available equipment and processes under the direct observation of higher-level technician(s).
  • Maintains a neat and clean work area.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Ability to obtain a US security clearance.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience, or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience.

Skills

  • Knowledge of applicable laws, codes, ordinances, and regulations.
  • Knowledge of techniques, tools, and equipment used in the inspection process.
  • Knowledge of non-destructive testing methods.
  • Basic arithmetic, algebra, and physics principles to solve problems.
  • Ability to interpret engineering specifications, drawings, blueprints, production plans, and/or work instructions.

Schedule

3/12: Employees work 12-hour days, 3 days a week (Weekends).
