Non-Commissioned Investigator - MCC
About the role
The Institutional Intelligence Analyst for Division of Adult Institutions works within correctional facilities to locate, analyze, and disseminate intelligence. This role requires some statewide travel and involves developing actionable intelligence related to facility and public safety.
Responsibilities
- Locate, analyze, and disseminate intelligence in Missouri's prison systems.
- Develop and maintain proficiency in various intelligence sources including offender phone and email systems, recording and monitoring equipment, and the MoDOC offender management system.
- Maintain a proficient working knowledge of offender wire communications and work to identify criminal activity.
- Provide analyzed intelligence to Institutional Investigators, local and state law enforcement agencies, facility administrators, and Department Special Investigations Taskforce Unit.
- Compile extensive reports regarding intercepted communications and utilize the information to organize interdictions of drugs and contraband.
- Develop actionable intelligence related to the safety and security of the facility and general public by exhausting all reasonable leads.
- Aid in ongoing investigations of suspected violations of administrative, state, and federal law.
- Interview staff, victims, and witnesses to obtain evidence and write case summaries.
- Testify in criminal, civil, or administrative proceedings.
Requirements
- Four or more years of correctional experience; or four or more years of experience in financial or resources investigations, civil, administrative, or criminal investigative experience (e.g., tax fraud, licensing, environmental, client care, public assistance, insurance, or military).
- Possession of a high school diploma or proof of high school equivalency.

- Ability to develop actionable intelligence related to facility and public safety.
- Experience interviewing staff, victims, and witnesses to obtain evidence and write case summaries.
- Ability to testify in criminal, civil, or administrative proceedings.

Pay
The annual salary includes a $1,560 annually medium security differential and a $2.00 per hour shift differential if assigned to a shift beginning on or between 12:00pm (noon) and 5:00am and employed at a 24/7 congregate care facility. A $1.00 per hour restrictive housing differential is also available if assigned to a regular post within a restrict housing/segregation unit at any facility.
