Non-Certified Nursing Assistant - PRN - 6a to 6p

About the role

Under the general supervision of the Charge Nurse, this position provides direct care to residents, assists with activities of daily living, and reports needs and concerns to the supervisor on duty in accordance with facility policies, procedures, and all applicable federal, state, and local regulations.

Responsibilities

• Performs or assists with resident direct care needs and comforts of daily living, including lifting, turning, positioning, transporting, bathing, dressing, oral hygiene, grooming, and timely response to call lights
• Provides restorative care such as range of motion, ambulation, and bowel and bladder training
• Maintains cleanliness of resident rooms through daily cleaning, deep cleaning as required, and discharge cleaning
• Engages residents in activities of interest and provides restorative nursing programs to maintain ADLs
• Communicates professionally and effectively, verbally and in writing, and follows written and verbal directions
• Provides exemplary customer service to residents, peers, families, managers, and visitors
• Reports changes in residents’ physical or mental conditions in a timely manner
• Assists nurses with assigned tasks, including measuring and recording vitals, gathering weights and measures, making beds, cleaning closets, organizing resident living areas, assisting with new admissions, and orienting new staff
• Adheres to Resident Rights documentation, knows resident rights, and helps residents exercise or protect their rights
• Reports resident complaints to the charge nurse or supervisor, maintains confidentiality, and documents resident information timely, accurately, and confidentially in the electronic medical record system
• Adheres to Safety & Compliance policies and procedures, demonstrates proper use of equipment, reports equipment needs or repairs, practices universal precautions, and follows infection control protocols
• Performs food service functions, including preparing residents for meals, serving food, assisting with eating, after-meal care, passing snacks and water/ice, recording food/fluid intake, noting changes in eating habits, and reporting appropriately

• Ensures all care is provided with respect and dignity for residents/clients, their families, and staff
• Reports all complaints made by residents/clients and/or families to appropriate supervisors; reports allegations of abuse, misappropriation of funds/resident property, and any other compliance or safety concerns
• Completes all annual education requirements timely, including Compliance, Privacy, Security, and HIPAA training, and exhibits behavior consistent with the Code of Conduct
• Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED preferred, or currently enrolled in a program to achieve preferred education
• Two to four years of experience preferred
• Good communication, comprehension, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English

• Working knowledge of Windows, Microsoft Office Suite, and the World Wide Web
