Non-Certified Nursing Assistant - PRN - Nights 6p to 6a

About the role

Under the general supervision of the Charge Nurse, this position provides direct care to residents, assists with activities of daily living, and supports the highest level of resident function in accordance with facility policies and applicable regulations.

Responsibilities

• Performs or assists with resident care needs including lifting, turning, positioning, transporting, bathing, dressing, oral hygiene, grooming, and timely response to call lights.
• Provides restorative care such as range of motion exercises, ambulation support, and bowel and bladder training.
• Maintains cleanliness of resident rooms through daily and deep cleaning, and ensures discharge cleaning as required.
• Engages residents in activities of interest and implements restorative nursing programs to support ADLs.
• Communicates professionally and effectively with residents, peers, families, managers, and visitors; reports changes in physical or mental condition promptly.
• Assists nurses with tasks including measuring and recording vitals, gathering documentation, making beds, cleaning living areas, and supporting new admissions.
• Adheres to Resident Rights guidelines, maintains confidentiality, and reports complaints or concerns to the Charge Nurse or supervisor.
• Documents resident information accurately and confidentially in the electronic medical record system.
• Follows safety, compliance, infection control, and universal precautions; reports equipment needs or repairs.
• Performs food service functions: prepares residents for meals, serves food, assists with eating, provides after-meal care, passes snacks and water, and records food/fluid intake.

• Completes annual education requirements including Compliance, Privacy, Security, and HIPAA training.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred, or currently enrolled in a program to achieve preferred education.
• Two to four years of relevant experience preferred.
• Good communication, comprehension, and interpersonal skills; ability to speak, read, write, and understand English.
• Working knowledge of Windows, Microsoft Office Suite, and the World Wide Web.

Physical Demands

• Lifting/Carrying: Frequent 10–25 lbs, Sometimes 26–50 lbs, Frequent 51–75 lbs, Rare 76+ lbs.
• Frequent standing, walking, pushing, and pulling; sometimes sitting.
• Stooping, climbing, and driving are rare.
• Exposure to noise, odors, illness, infection, and physical contact with disruptive residents.
