Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) - PRN (As Needed)

About the role

Certified Nursing Assistant position on the Medical Surgical Team at MUSC Health Chester Medical Center (MUHA). This is a PRN, as‑needed role reporting to a Registered Nurse.

Responsibilities

• Assist nursing team with patient care activities related to personal needs, comfort, and safety.
• Help patients with personal hygiene, dressing, and walking.
• Change bed linens and assist with patient transportation to tests and procedures.
• Serve and collect food trays; provide between‑meal nourishment.
• Record temperature or vital signs under nurse direction.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• At least one year of patient care experience in a health‑care facility or as a CNA preferred.

Qualifications

• Current Certified Nurse Assistant registration in South Carolina; active in the Nurse Aide Registry.
• American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required before patient contact.

Skills

• Ability to work under direct supervision of a Registered Nurse.
• Multi‑skilled, capable of performing a variety of patient‑care tasks.
• Enthusiastic and energetic team player.

Pay

Hourly position; Pay Grade Health‑19.

Schedule

Scheduled weekly hours: 12. Work shift: Rotating. PRN status requires availability for at least 12 hours bi‑weekly, with possible additional hours as needed; hours may vary based on unit needs.
