Nocturnist Advanced Practice Clinician - St. Dominic Hospital

About the role

This position is part of a team-based approach in the Closed ICU and includes a dedicated Nocturnist program. The role involves working closely with Hospital Medicine Physicians to improve patient throughput and timely discharges.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Hospital Medicine Physicians to manage patients in the Closed ICU and during nocturnal shifts.
• Assess and document patient conditions, order tests, and provide clinical guidance based on medical knowledge and hospital protocols.
• Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and discharge planning meetings to ensure timely patient transitions.
• Ensure accurate documentation in the EMR system (EPICS).

Requirements

• Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant with 1-2 years of hospitalist experience.
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification.
• ENLS (Emergency Nursing Life Support) certification.

Qualifications

• Current licensure as an NP or PA in the state of practice.
• Experience in a hospital setting, preferably in a Nocturnist or similar role.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours including overnight shifts.

Schedule
