Responsibilities

• Assist in developing, coordinating, and performing tasks on the service plan according to the resident’s preferences and abilities
• Maintain and document in the Medication Assistance Record
• Read and implement care/activities of daily living (ADLs) according to the resident service plan
• Respond to resident needs, pendant calls, and other community alarms in a timely manner
• Demonstrate empathy and develop caring rapport with residents; promote resident independence and self-care
• Deliver care and services in accordance with individual service plans for all assigned residents
• Maintain accurate and complete records of care delivered
• Complete incident reports accurately and timely
• Understand and follow policies pertaining to safety and infection control; demonstrate practices to control the spread of communicable illnesses
• Promote a clean, orderly, and safe environment; assist housekeeping and maintenance staff as needed
• Recognize, respond to, and report concerns in the resident's environment to ensure safety and comfort

Requirements

• Must hold state-required medication pass certification or other required certification
• Must complete state-required delegation and/or training requirements, and successfully complete the medication pass competency
• Word processing skills
• Current CPR certification, First Aid training, and Food Handlers permit as required by state regulations
• Must complete all state-required trainings as necessary
• High school diploma or GED, or equivalent knowledge and skills obtained through a combination of education, training, and experience
