About the role
The Training and Development Specialist oversees the end-to-end lifecycle of the employee training process, facilitates training sessions in both English and Spanish, maintains the facility’s Training Matrix, collaborates with Production Supervisors for competency assessments, assists in the development and updating of training materials, and manages the local implementation of the Learning Management System (LMS).
Responsibilities
- Oversee the employee training process, including initial orientation, specialized technical on-boarding, and recurring annual certifications.
- Facilitate training sessions in both English and Spanish, ensuring clear communication of complex technical procedures and safety protocols to a diverse workforce.
- Maintain the Training Matrix with accuracy, ensuring compliance with corporate policies and federal regulations.
- Perform hands-on competency assessments on the manufacturing floor to verify adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Develop and update training manuals, visual aids, and digital learning modules to reflect current engineering changes and process improvements.
- Manage the local implementation of the Learning Management System (LMS), tracking completion rates and identifying skill gaps within specific production shifts.
Requirements
- Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in a training or supervisory role within a high-volume manufacturing environment.
- Proven experience conducting group instruction, teaching classes of 10 or more students/employees simultaneously.
- Professional-level fluency in English and Spanish (both verbal and written).
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint).
- Experience with industrial Learning Management Systems.
- Foundational understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles, 5S methodologies, and OSHA safety standards.
- Demonstrated ability to present information to large groups and interface professionally with executive leadership and floor-level operators.
- Available to work 4:00 AM - 12:30 PM.
