Night shift Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)/Registered Nurse (RN)

About the role

Maple Health and Rehab is seeking a PRN or Part-time LPN/RN for the Night Shift. Our facility features the only dedicated memory care unit in Muhlenberg County, a Rehab to Home short-term unit, and an above-average staff-to-resident ratio. We offer an established mentorship program to ensure successful onboarding and prioritize internal growth, with a tenured administrator who started as a CNA.

Responsibilities

• Consults and coordinates with healthcare team members to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans
• Prepares and administers (orally, subcutaneously, through an IV) and records prescribed medications; reports adverse reactions to medications or treatments in accordance with policy
• Records patients' medical information and vital signs
• Monitors and adjusts specialized equipment used on patients, and interprets and records electronic displays
• Initiates corrective action whenever the patient displays adverse symptomatology
• Provides bedside care for a wide variety of medical patients
• Changes dressings, inserts catheters, and starts IVs
• Prepares equipment and aids the physician during the examination and treatment of a patient
• Responds to life-saving situations based on nursing standards and protocol
• Participates in discharge planning
• Utilizes time management skills
• Records all care information concisely, accurately, and completely, in a timely manner, in the appropriate format, and on the appropriate forms
• Performs other position-related duties as assigned, depending on the assignment setting

Requirements

• Current RN/LPN license in the state
• Up-to-date first aid and CPR certification
• At least one year of LPN or RN experience in a long-term care setting is preferred
• Knowledge of MatrixCare preferred
