About the role
The position supports and manages Nursing Services to ensure residents receive comprehensive care aligned with physician orders and facility policies. It involves 24-hour supervision and maintaining quality standards under the scope of the State’s Nurse Practice Act.
Responsibilities
- Coordinates plans for resident care, communicating and interpreting policies to staff and monitoring practices.
- Participates in admissions decisions and visits prospective residents.
- Attends and contributes to daily and weekly management team meetings.
- Ensures compassionate quality care through adequate services, staff coverage, cleanliness, prevention of pressure wounds, and resident function maintenance.
- Demonstrates knowledge of and applies Key Clinical Quality Indicators, proactively implementing systems to meet or exceed company standards.
- Collaborates with physicians, consultants, and community agencies to enhance service quality and address issues.
- Coordinates nursing services with other departments and assists in competency testing of nursing personnel.
- Implements and monitors infection control programs, prepares surveillance reports, and coordinates QA activities.
- Reviews and reinforces standards, designs systems for clinical program evaluation, and monitors facility incidents and complaints.
- Promotes compliance with safety procedures and ensures 24-hour services, abuse and neglect coordination, and other required services.
Qualifications
- Currently licensed RN in the state practiced.
- Associate or bachelor’s degree from an accredited nursing school required.
- Five years of experience in long-term or acute health care preferred.
- At least two years of nursing supervisory experience required.
