Night Outbound Supervisor

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily processes on the dock and in coolers.
• Review, coach, and develop the outbound associates.
• Maintain work, adherence to policy and safety requirements.
• Issue discipline when necessary.
• Interpret company policies for employees, enforce safety and security regulations, and hold daily pre-shift meetings.
• Manage labor hours and consumable supplies within budget.
• Prepare work schedules.
• Perform substitution of items that are not available for selection.
• Communicate with sales, purchasing, and inventory control.
• Spot check orders for accuracy and quality.
• Pull critical care orders or double-check them for quality and accuracy.
• Inspect material handling equipment daily for safe operations and coordinate required repairs with the maintenance department.

Qualifications

• Education: High School diploma or equivalent.
• Experience: 1-year operations/warehouse experience in shipping and receiving perishable products, and/or a combination of education and industry experience.
• Professional Skills: Ability to supervise, motivate, and train hourly employees; able to solve problems independently and effectively articulate and communicate information.

Decision-Making Authority

• Most important decisions made fully independently: Corrective actions, assigning work duties, item substitutions, scheduling, reassigning equipment (transportation).
• Most important decisions made with review and approval of other individuals or supervisors: Hiring, termination, staffing increase.

Organizational Reporting

• Supervisor Title: Manager outbound.
• Position Reporting to this Role: Forklifts, Clerical, Selectors.
