Responsibilities

• Adhere to department and hospital policies and procedures, including safety, risk management, and regulatory standards.
• Stay abreast of trends, developments, and regulatory requirements impacting your scope of responsibility.
• Administer, oversee, and document medication administration (e.g., topically, orally, intramuscularly, subcutaneously, and intravenously) as ordered by healthcare practitioners and in accordance with hospital policy.
• Assess patients to include physical, psychosocial, cultural, behavioral/emotional, developmental, and spiritual needs; gather relevant data for patient care.
• Implement appropriate patient interventions and evaluate outcomes.
• Plan care based on needs identified during initial and ongoing assessments.
• Provide holistic, comprehensive, and professional nursing care within the scope of practice.
• Prepare patients for discharge and assist with coordinating post-discharge needs.
• Demonstrate cultural sensitivity and competence in communication and care provision.
• Understand and apply knowledge of specific patient populations served by the department.
• Engage in professional growth and demonstrate self-accountability to meet stated deadlines for mandatory requirements.
• Document care delivered and patient status using the nursing process in accordance with standards of care (e.g., changes in patient condition, responses to intervention, and reassessments).
• Receive, assess, and ensure the appropriateness, accuracy, timeliness, and execution of physician orders.

Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing (required).
• New graduate with completion of senior practicum in a specialty area (e.g., NICU, MBU, L&D) preferred.
• If no previous experience in the nursery, must successfully complete a 12-week NICU residency program.
• Registered Nurse (RN) license in Washington state (required upon hire).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) - CPR certification (required upon hire).
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification (required within 6 months).

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (preferred).
• One year of related work experience in an acute care setting (preferred).
• Previous experience in Level II or Level III NICU, Maternal Newborn Nursing, Neonatal Intensive Care Nursing, or Low-Risk Neonatal Nursing (preferred).

Pay

$47.86 - $90.42 per hour.
