About the role
Ooltewah High School is a 9–12 school in Ooltewah, TN, just outside of Chattanooga. The second largest school in Hamilton County, it serves nearly 1,300 students and was established in 1907. The school holds an AP Capstone designation, hosts three Future Ready Institutes, and offers specialized programs such as Culinary Arts and Audio/Visual Broadcasting. Responsibilities
- Non-faculty and Classified Employee Coaches must complete the NFHS “Fundamentals of Coaching” and “First Aid, Health, & Safety for Coaches” courses before assuming the position.
- Coaches who completed the ASEP Coaches Education Course prior to May 15, 2013 are exempt from the NFHS courses.
- School-level Athletic Director must keep on file each year:
- Concussion Certificate
- Sudden Cardiac Arrest Certificate
- When applicable, maintain on file:
- “Fundamentals of Coaching” completion
- “First Aid, Health, & Safety for Coaches” completion
- NFHS “Heat Illness Prevention” course completion (annual requirement)
- NFHS COVID-19 Course for Coaches and Administrators
