News Producer

About the Role

We are looking for a creative News Producer to handle the day-to-day production of our newscasts. In this role, you will work closely with the Executive Producer, Director, Assignment Desk, and Anchors to shape the newscast and its content. You will determine the content and flow of newscasts, collaborate with management and on-air staff to generate and write stories, and develop content for our website.

Requirements

• Solid news judgment
• Compelling and accurate writing skills
• Ability to multitask and manage time effectively
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Flexibility and on-the-spot problem-solving abilities
• Proficiency with non-linear editing (e.g., Avid) and newsroom systems (e.g., iNews)

Qualifications

• At least some previous news producing experience at a commercial TV station (the right entry-level candidate may be considered)
• A journalism degree is preferred
