News Producer
About the role
The News Producer will be responsible for the day-to-day production of WCYB/WEMT's newscasts. They will work closely with the Executive Producer, Director, Assignment Desk, and Anchors to ensure the newscasts are engaging and informative.
Responsibilities
- Determine the content and flow of newscasts
- Work with management and on-air staff to generate and write stories
- Develop content for the web site
- Show solid news judgment
- Write compelling and accurate stories
- Multitask and manage time effectively
- Put together an exciting and informative newscast
- Work in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment
- Show strong leadership and communication skills
- Execute news strategies and goals in daily newscasts
- Show flexibility and on-the-spot problem-solving abilities
- Be proficient with non-linear editing (i.e. Avid) and newsroom systems, such as iNews Experience
Requirements
- At least some previous news producing experience at a commercial TV station
- A journalism degree is preferred

Pay
The hourly compensation range for this role is $19.00 to $23.08. Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors such as a candidate's relevant work experience, skills, certifications, and geographic location.
