News Producer

About the role

You will be responsible for day-to-day production of our newscasts and work closely with reporters, photographers, assignment editors, and news managers. You will determine the content and flow of newscasts with strong integration with our digital platforms.

• Determine the content and flow of newscasts with strong integration with our digital platforms
• Work closely with reporters, photographers, assignment editors, and news managers
• Execute news strategies and goals in daily newscasts
• Show flexibility and on-the-spot problem solving abilities
• Use proficiency in non-linear editing (i.e. Avid, Adobe Premiere Pro) and newsroom systems such as iNews

Requirements

• Solid news judgment
• Be a compelling and accurate writer
• Able to multitask and manage time to put together an exciting and informative newscast
• Work in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment
• Show strong leadership and communication skills
• Show flexibility and on-the-spot problem solving abilities are a must
• Experience: Previous news producing experience at a commercial TV station is preferred, although the right entry-level candidate may be considered
• A Journalism degree is preferred
