News Producer
About the role
WKBN-TV is seeking a Full-Time News Producer with strong news judgment, solid writing skills, and a passion for storytelling.
Responsibilities
- Build and produce engaging newscasts and streaming content
- Write, edit, and organize stories for newscasts
- Pitch original story ideas and contribute to editorial decision-making
- Maintain scanners, phones, social, and digital sources for breaking news
- Collaborate with anchors, MMJs, and newsroom staff daily
Requirements
Strong writing, grammar, and storytelling skills
Solid news judgment and attention to detail
Ability to multitask and thrive under deadline pressure
Team player who communicates well across departments
Qualifications
Preferred: Degree in Journalism, Communications, or related field (or equivalent experience)
Skills
Enterprise reporting, creativity, and multi-platform storytelling
