About the Role

WTAP is seeking a News Producer/Anchor for its Monday-Friday morning newscasts. The role involves anchoring a 90-minute newscast at 5:30 AM and producing and anchoring the Noon newscast. The ideal candidate is a team player, newsroom leader, and comfortable across all broadcast journalism platforms, including television, social, and digital media. Strong writing, critical thinking, and ethical integrity are essential.

Responsibilities

• Produce and anchor weekday newscasts.
• Generate unique, compelling, and innovative story and show ideas.
• Demonstrate excellent, creative presentation and writing skills.
• Utilize social media for news gathering and community engagement.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
• Make community appearances on behalf of the station.

Requirements

• Journalism or Mass Communication degree preferred.
• Strong on-camera delivery with the ability to ad-lib.
• Excellent writing, packaging, and live reporting skills.
• Ability to report in a broad range of styles with strong on-air presentation.
• Strong social media presence and copy editing skills.
