News Photographer

About the role

We are seeking a creative full-time News Photographer to join our team at WGME. The ideal candidate should have 2 years of experience with a network affiliate news organization, covering day-to-day general, in-depth features, and investigative assignments.

Responsibilities

• Cover day-to-day general, in-depth features, and investigative assignments
• Shoot full high definition (HD) on media cards and edit on desktops and laptops
• Edit and shoot general assignment stories, live shots, and natural sound packages
• Must have a valid driver’s license, good driving record, and be able to operate ENG news vehicles
• Must be able to lift and carry between 25 and 50 pounds on a regular basis

Requirements and Qualifications

• At least 2 years of shooting experience and technical knowledge of editing and photo equipment
• Team-player who can produce good stories under tight deadlines
• Strong editing skills in non-linear edit systems
• Excellent people skills and a strong work ethic
• A passion for storytelling is essential
