News Photographer

About the role

We are seeking a storyteller who can capture compelling narratives through ENG (Electronic News Gathering) footage. The ideal candidate will have 2 years of experience working at a network affiliate news organization.

Responsibilities

• Cover day-to-day general and in-depth features
• Engage in investigative assignments
• Shoot full high-definition (HD) footage on media cards
• Edit on desktop and laptop computers using non-linear edit systems
• Produce good stories under tight deadlines
• Embrace new technology and learn quickly
• Operate ENG news vehicles
• Edit and shoot general assignment stories, live shots, and natural sound packages
• Able to lift and carry between 25 and 50 pounds on a regular basis

Requirements and Qualifications

• At least 2 years of shooting experience and technical knowledge of editing and photo equipment
• Team-player who can produce good stories under tight deadlines
• Must have a valid driver’s license, good driving record, and be able to operate ENG news vehicles
• Passion for storytelling is essential
• Includes weekend work
