About the role

K&L Gates is seeking to hire a mid-level associate to join the Commercial Disputes practice in our dynamic Newark office. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience with general commercial litigation matters, multi-district litigation, or class actions in state and federal courts. Candidates should have experience independently conducting research, drafting substantive pleadings and motions, and organizing, conducting, and managing the discovery practice, including e-discovery.

Responsibilities

  • Independently conduct legal research and prepare substantive pleadings and motions
  • Manage and organize the discovery practice, including e-discovery
  • Work closely with experienced lawyers to provide active mentoring and assume increasing responsibilities
  • Assist in managing cases from inception through trial and post-trial proceedings

Requirements

  • J.D. from an accredited law school and admission to or eligibility to sit for the New Jersey Bar
  • Experience with general commercial litigation matters, multi-district litigation, or class actions in state and federal courts
  • Strong academic credentials, excellent communication skills, and exceptional research and writing abilities
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and as part of a team

Pay

Base Compensation: $215,000 - $255,000/year
