Commercial Litigation Associate (Midlevel)

About the role

Venable LLP’s Commercial Litigation Group seeks a mid-level associate with at least three years of experience to join the practice in the San Francisco office.

Responsibilities

• Support commercial litigation activities, including complex commercial litigation such as trade secrets and class actions.
• Manage all phases of discovery.
• Manage junior associates.
• Take and defend depositions.
• Work well in a team.
• Be prepared to take on significant responsibility in Venable's cases.
• Participate in marketing and business development activities, including client pitches and presentations.

Requirements

• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Outstanding academic credentials.
• Excellent research, writing, and analytical skills.
• Prior law firm experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Hold a juris doctorate degree from an accredited law school.
• Be admitted to and in good standing with the relevant jurisdiction’s bar.

Skills

• Strong legal research and writing skills.
• Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
• Experience with complex litigation and discovery processes.

Benefits

• Salary range: $215,000 to $355,000 per year, depending upon associate level.
• The actual salary offered will be based on a number of job-related factors including, but not limited to, years of related experience, level of education, skills, credentials and certifications, responsibilities and performance.

• The salary range for associate positions is $215,000 to $355,000 per year, depending upon associate level.
