Due to Post University-specific operational and administrative considerations, this position is not approved to be performed in Alaska, California, Hawaii, or New York. Candidates must be physically located and perform their work from an approved state.
Work Arrangement
Post University currently offers the option to work remotely in this position. Candidates must plug their equipment into their home router (a 50-foot ethernet cable will be provided by Post). No wireless connections are supported. The home internet minimum requirements are:
- 25 Mb download speed
- 15 Mb upload speed
- Ping rate of less than 60
The upload speed is essential for a consistent audio connection for the phone system. Applicants may be asked to provide their speed test results during the screening process. Individuals whose home network speed does not meet the minimum requirements can independently contact their ISP to upgrade their service before moving forward.
Candidates must have a reliable Internet connection and a designated, private home office or alternative workspace free from noise or distractions.
About the Role
A New Student Success Advisor provides academic counseling to 250-350 undergraduate/graduate students of American Sentinel University so educational objectives are achieved.
Responsibilities
- Work with students via phone or email on overcoming problems and/or issues that threaten their success in the university.
- Upon enrolling, welcome students to the University immediately to help them register for courses, explain the program, answer questions, discuss Orientation, and more.
- Reply to student inquiries within 24 business hours and proactively reach out about registration, course planning, participation, etc., to provide an exceptional student experience.
- Provide guidance on academic completion, discuss best practices on time management, and coach students on utilizing institutional resources.
- Collect, organize, and analyze information about students through records, tests, emails, interviews, and professional resources to appraise their interests, aptitudes, abilities, etc., for educational planning.
- Compile and study educational information to provide guidance.
- Assist students in making and carrying out their educational objectives.
- Assist students with registration, book ordering, research techniques, and follow-up activities.
- Assist in developing student resources.
- Perform other administrative duties as needed.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree.
- One to two years of experience in education, administration, marketing, and/or other customer-related services.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent technology skills (Word, Excel, MS Applications, etc.).
- Results-oriented, able to manage multiple projects, and work well under pressure.
- Works well independently and with a team.
- Takes initiative to complete tasks quickly and can troubleshoot student issues by utilizing multiple resources effectively.
- Highly motivated to help students graduate.
Work Environment
