New Markets Tax Credit Project Manager I

This role will be located at the Huntington Pittsburgh Vision office, 11 Franklin Street, Pittsburgh, PA 15222.

About the role

The New Markets Tax Credit (NMTC) Business Development Associate Project Manager will work on equity and debt underwriting and project management of NMTC and co-manage internal relationships with the closing teams and external developer relationships.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite debt facilities and equity investments and coordinate successful closings with all internal and external groups.
• Act as a contact with the developer during the underwriting and closing process.
• Perform financial modeling of sources and uses, capital stack, development budget, operating budget pro forma, cash flow, benefit schedule, and other relevant analyses.
• Demonstrate basic proficiency in understanding and identifying associated risks, and the ability to describe and/or devise mitigants.
• Draft and present comprehensive memorandums summarizing the transaction, including deal structure, budgets, guarantor analysis, compliance, risks and mitigants, and final recommendation. Memos should be of high quality and based on sound underwriting.
• Learn and ultimately lead limited partnership agreement negotiations, closing timelines, and due diligence review.
• Act as a key point of contact with Credit in investments and loans via regular and substantive updates on key issues.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree.
• 2+ years of New Markets Tax Credit (NMTC) experience with technical knowledge of the NMTC program.

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with other tax credit programs such as State and Historic Tax Credits and debt products.
• Basic proficiency in Excel modeling of debt and equity investments.
• Basic knowledge of limited partnership agreements and loan documents with focus on guarantees and security.
• Some tax credit syndications knowledge.
• Strong presentation skills to Credit and other internal stakeholders.
• Bachelor’s degree from accredited university; Finance, accounting, or business degree preferred.
