Role Overview
The RN Resident is a newly graduated registered nurse participating in a comprehensive 12-month Nurse Residency Program designed to support a smooth transition into professional practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform clinical nursing care following evidence-based practices and standards of care.
- Assess, diagnose, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care, ensuring individualized treatment.
- Provide culturally competent, patient- and family-centered care, engaging patients and significant others through effective communication.
- Coordinate care with interdisciplinary teams, maintaining adherence to policies and promoting service excellence.
Qualifications & Skills
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred.
- Current RN license (single state or multi-state compact).
- Certifications in BLS required upon hire.
- Less than six months of nursing experience.
Training & Support
- Participation in specialty and core onboarding sessions, monthly NRP sessions, and system orientation.
- Supported by unit leaders, educators, preceptors, and site coordinators to develop critical thinking, clinical skills, and professional growth.
