New Grad RN Nurse Residency Inpatient Medical

About the role

HCA Healthcare is committed to the growth and development of its future nurses through the HCA Healthcare Residency Program. This year-long program offers hands-on experience to help establish valuable clinical and critical thinking skills.

Responsibilities

  • Advanced clinical training in a specialty area.
  • Monthly educational sessions.
  • Preceptorship training with a facility preceptor.
  • Measurement and evaluation of skills through hands-on simulations.
  • Mentoring from experienced nurse leaders.
  • Coordination and delivery of high quality, patient-centered care.
  • Avoidance of adverse events by monitoring patient for therapeutic response and notifying providers.
  • Teaching patients, families, and caregivers about their medical conditions, treatment plans, medications, and follow-up measures.

Requirements

  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) obtained within 30 days of employment.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) obtained within 1 year of employment.
  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from an accredited nursing program.
  • Registered Nurse License or Graduate Nurse in the State.
  • No previous experience needed.
  • Some travel may be needed for training.

Qualifications

  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) obtained within 30 days of employment.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) obtained within 1 year of employment.
  • Other certifications may be required during employment.
  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from an accredited nursing program.
  • Registered Nurse License or Graduate Nurse in the State.
  • No previous experience needed.
  • Some travel may be needed for training.

Skills

  • Ability to assess patient condition during admission and during each shift as scheduled.
  • Ability to perform procedures, monitor, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s).
  • Ability to document the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner.
  • Ability to administer prescribed medications.
  • Ability to monitor patient for therapeutic response and notify providers as appropriate.
  • Ability to teach patients, families, and caregivers about their medical conditions, treatment plans, medications, and follow-up measures.

The position is offered on a paid basis.

Schedule

The position can be for day or night shift and will be discussed during the initial interview.
