New Grad RN Nurse Residency Behavioral Health

About the role

The HCA Healthcare Residency Program at Frisbie Memorial Hospital is a year-long paid program designed to help new nurses transition from students to registered nurses. It includes advanced clinical training, monthly educational sessions, preceptorship training, and mentoring from experienced leaders.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient condition during admission and shifts, identifying and reporting any changes.
• Perform procedures, monitor, or other functions as ordered by medical providers.
• Document care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner.
• Administer prescribed medications and monitor patient responses.
• Notify providers and intervene if necessary in case of medication side effects.
• Respond promptly to patient requests and advocate for their needs.
• Teach patients, families, and caregivers about their medical conditions, treatments, medications, and follow-up measures.
• Translate complex medical terminology to ensure full understanding.

Qualifications

• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of employment.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within 1 year of employment.
• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from an accredited nursing program.
• Registered Nurse License or Graduate Nurse in the State.
• No previous experience needed.
• Travel for training may be required.
