New Grad Registered Nurse (RN) - PCU

About the role

Under minimal supervision, provides nursing care for a group of patients assigned to the nurse based on matching the patients’ needs with the nurse’s competencies. Completes established competencies for the position within designated introductory period. Other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited school of nursing (minimum education)
• Bachelor’s Degree (preferred education)
• None (minimum experience)
• Two years in acute care (preferred experience)
• Previous clinical nursing experience in med/surg, telemetry, or ICU (preferred experience)
• Possession of current Texas State License for Registered Nurse
• Active healthcare provider Basic Life Support on hire (ARC or AHA); must obtain AHA Healthcare Provider BLS within 60 days of hire
• AHA ACLS within 60 days of hire or transfer into role (Adult Critical Care, Telemetry, Interim Critical Care Units)
• AHA PALS within 60 days of hire or transfer into role (Pediatric ICU)
• AHA NRP within 60 days of hire or transfer into role (NICU)
• S.T.A.B.L.E. for NICU-Level 2 Nursery: proof of prior completion or obtain within 6 months of hire or transfer (renewal not required)
