New Grad Nurse (RN)-Hospice Residency Program

About the role

Tidewell Hospice, a part of Empath Health, is seeking a caring and motivated Recent Grad RN to join their 12-month Nurse Residency program.

Responsibilities

• Join a 3:1 Nurse Resident / Clinical Coach ratio
• Participate in weekly classroom education on hospice patient and family care
• Complete the 12-month Nurse Residency program to become a Certified Hospice Nurse
• Receive exam fees coverage by Empath Health
• Work a 40-hour per week schedule, typically consisting of 3 twelve-hour shifts in the Hospice House and 4 hours of clinical education per week
• Gain six months of practical experience under a Hospice Clinical Coach/Preceptor in a hospice house setting
• Schedule rotations with other hospice teams and the Home, ALF, and Admissions service lines
• No prior medical/surgical experience is necessary
• The Nurse Resident joins their new team in the seventh month with continued individualized orientation as needed
• Receive a $5,000 sign-on bonus

Qualifications

• Recent graduates are welcome to apply
• Must have less than 1 year of RN experience for the residency program
• ASN or BSN degree from an accredited program is required
• A current Florida RN License or multi-state compact license is required
• A valid CPR certification from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association is required
• Experience with hospice or ALF patients is preferred
• A valid driver's license, proof of insurance, and means of transportation are required
• Medical clearance for communicable diseases and up-to-date immunizations are required before direct participant contact
