About the role
Tidewell Hospice, a part of Empath Health, is seeking a caring and motivated Recent Grad RN to join their 12-month Nurse Residency program.
Responsibilities
- Join a 3:1 Nurse Resident / Clinical Coach ratio
- Participate in weekly classroom education on hospice patient and family care
- Complete the 12-month Nurse Residency program to become a Certified Hospice Nurse
- Receive exam fees covered by Empath Health
- Work 40 hours per week, typically 3x12 hour shifts in the Hospice House and 4 hours of clinical education per week
- Gain six months of practical experience in a hospice house setting under a Hospice Clinical Coach/Preceptor
- Schedule rotations with other hospice teams and the Home, ALF, and Admissions service lines
- No prior medical/surgical experience necessary
- Join a new team in the seventh month with continued individualized orientation as needed
- Receive a $5,000 sign-on bonus
Requirements
- Recent graduates welcome to apply
- Less than 1 year of RN experience for the residency program
- ASN or BSN degree from an accredited program required
- Current Florida RN License or multi-state compact license required
- Valid CPR certification from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association
- Prefers clinical experience with hospice or ALF patients
- Valid driver’s license, proof of insurance, and means of transportation required
- Medical clearance for communicable diseases and up-to-date immunizations before direct participant contact
