New Business Sales Manager
About the role
This position serves as a New Business Sales Manager for JTEKT Column Systems North America. Reporting to the Director of Sales, the role involves identifying and developing new business opportunities, negotiating and securing profitable business, and managing internal activities related to commercial items.
Responsibilities
- Identify new business opportunities, such as finding possible growth areas, trends, markets, and customers.
- Develop and maintain long-term business strategy plan, including collaboration with respective JTEKT & JCS development plans.
- Develop and execute growth plans and programs for new product opportunities capitalizing on the company's current core competencies & utilizing existing capital as much as possible.
- Collaborate with sales team, marketing, product management, engineering, and operations / manufacturing to meet key customer requirements and align resources to close new business.
- Understand industry structure, evaluate new opportunities for JCSNA products, and provide solutions supporting industry trends and needs.
- Streamline margins through price adjustments and cost reduction analysis.
- Represent company at conferences, meetings, and industry events.
- Set goals for the business development team and develop strategies to meet those goals.
- Prepare annual sales, marketing, and expense forecasts with quarterly business reviews.
- Other duties as assigned.

Supervisor Responsibility
- Direct Relationships: Directs and manages all members of the Business Development Team as assigned.
- Indirect Relationships: Interfaces with customers, Engineering, Purchasing, Finance, Quality, Human Resources, industrial relations, local community officials, and technical and trade organizations.
Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Business, or equivalent.
- Three years Sales experience in the automotive industry direct to OEM is a must. Experience with Japanese OEM or Tier 1 is a plus but not required.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills;
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite;
- Team player and model employee.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Typical days and hours of work are Monday through Friday. This position regularly requires extended hours.
Travel
Travel to various worksites is required. Regular visits to both Bronson, MI and Hopkinsville, KY facilities will be required.
