New Business Development Manager

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute sales activities within the assigned territory.
  • Maintain and grow relationships with existing retail customers.
  • Identify and secure new business opportunities through prospecting, networking, phone outreach, and in-person visits.
  • Generate customer orders and support account growth.
  • Identify customer requirements and provide appropriate product solutions.
  • Prepare, submit, and follow up on sales quotations.
  • Build relationships with key customer contacts, including purchasing teams, quality assurance representatives, managers, and decision-makers.
  • Manage daily sales activities and territory coverage independently.
  • Conduct regular customer visits throughout the assigned region.
  • Support and manage merchandisers within the territory.
  • Perform merchandising activities including product placement, restocking, and display maintenance when required.
  • Monitor competitive activity, market conditions, and customer trends.
  • Provide weekly sales activity reports, call reports, and territory updates to leadership.
  • Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, opportunities, and sales progress.
  • Perform additional sales-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of field sales, outside sales, territory management, account management, or business development experience.
  • Retail sales experience preferred, especially in novelty, gift, consumer products, or similar industries.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Proven ability to develop new business and maintain customer relationships.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent time management and follow-up skills.
  • Demonstrated success working in a sales-driven environment.
  • Ability to travel extensively throughout the assigned territory.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Reliable transportation required.
  • Authorization to work in the United States.
