Neuropsychologist

Full-time, in-office position located at 1300 East Center Street, Provo, Utah, 84606.

About the Role

The Utah State Hospital is seeking a qualified Neuropsychologist to work in Provo, UT, providing treatment for mentally ill patients in an inpatient facility. Candidates should be comfortable delivering didactics on a broad range of neuropsychology topics, have completed a two-year fellowship in neuropsychology, and be board certified or working toward board certification in neuropsychology.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive and brief neuropsychological evaluations for individuals referred for long-term treatment of severe psychiatric issues.
• Consult with treatment teams in both civil and forensic adult populations regarding neuropsychological services, treatment recommendations, symptom presentation, and behavior management.
• Maintain ethical and appropriate documentation of patient encounters, including therapy notes, assessment reports, and data notes.
• Provide cognitive remediation through group and individual treatment modalities.
• Supervise pre- and post-doctoral trainees with an interest in neuropsychology (both assessment and intervention).
• Deliver and participate in regular didactics for trainees seeking neuropsychology experiences.
• Participate in the psychology department training committee.
• Participate in medication hearings for patients referred for forced medication compliance.

Requirements

• Doctoral degree (Ph.D. or PsyD) from an APA-accredited program in clinical psychology.
• Completion of an internship with a neuropsychology emphasis and a post-doctoral fellowship in neuropsychology or a related field.
• Active psychologist license in the State of Utah.
• Strong foundation in neuropsychological principles and concepts (e.g., neuroanatomy, cortical vs. subcortical syndromes, lateralization, functional localization vs. network dynamics, PVTs).

Preferences

• Experience conducting evaluations of pediatric populations and supervising trainees working with pediatric populations.
• Knowledge in cognitive remediation, particularly with a severe mental illness (SMI) population.
• Experience with diagnostic differentiation of complex medical and psychiatric cases.
• Ability to work with difficult and treatment-resistant patients.
• Strong collaboration skills within multidisciplinary teams.

Pay

$39.79 - $68.46 hourly.
