About the role
Provides psychological evaluations, direct therapeutic services and consultative mental healthcare services to individuals, families and treatment teams.
Responsibilities
- Advises on population‑health matters for the target population, serving as a content expert.
- Collaborates with medical professionals when the needs of the patient or family dictate.
- Conducts and interprets diagnostic tests.
- Contributes to overall Behavioral Health quality of care by coordinating services and initiating and participating in quality‑improvement measures and procedures.
- Discusses school accommodations when indicated and accesses advocacy resources when needed.
- Documents patient care in the medical record according to federal, state, and agency guidelines.
- Establishes differential diagnosis, develops an appropriate treatment plan, and monitors response accordingly.
- Refers patients and families for psychotherapy as indicated, as well as to other SSM Health and community resources.
- Formulates, executes, and reviews healthcare education delivered to patients and families.
- Offers supervision of psychometricians, LPCs, and psychologists as needed for delivery of psychological evaluations.
- Participates in developing policies and healthcare reforms, improving service quality, and evaluating practice.
- Participates in multidisciplinary team meetings and evaluations.
- Performs clinical history and psychological assessment, risk‑factor assessment, and psychiatric diagnostic assessment utilizing appropriate tools.
- Works in a constant state of alertness and safety.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Doctorate in Psychology or a related field.
- Minimum two years of relevant experience.
- Physical requirements: frequent reaching, sitting, standing, walking, vision and hearing use, frequent keyboard use, occasional lifting/carrying objects weighing 0‑25 lb, occasional driving, and occasional bending, stooping, climbing, twisting, gripping, squatting, and repetitive movements.
- Professional license(s) and/or certification(s) required by state of work location:
- Illinois – Clinical Psychologist, Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR)
- Missouri – Psychologist, Missouri Division of Professional Registration
- Oklahoma – Psychologist, Oklahoma State Board of Examiners of Psychologists
- Wisconsin – Psychologist, Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services
