About the role

We are looking for a Networking and IoT Engineering Specialist to join our team in Irving, Texas (USA).

Responsibilities

  • Consult employees and clients on device- and solution-related technical issues.
  • Provide guidance on integrating Teltonika Networks products into customer solutions through written communication and online meetings.
  • Solve technical issues and proactively identify ways to reduce recurring problems.
  • Prepare technical documentation and technical tasks for internal and external use.
  • Congduct training sessions for employees and clients on Teltonika products and solutions.
  • Independently resolve technical issues related to customer configuration, firmware/software, and other sources.
  • Prepare documentation for internal and external platforms, including Teltonika Wiki.
  • Serve as a liaison between customers and Teltonika Networks R&D and Headquarters for complex technical challenges.
  • Work hands-on with Linux-based operating systems, industrial protocols, networking services and protocols, and occasional third-party peripherals.

Requirements

  • Technical or engineering education or background.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to explain technical topics clearly.
  • Working knowledge of software and operating system principles.
  • Knowledge of basic internet technologies (WWW, FTP, etc.).
  • Understanding of telecommunication systems and technologies.
  • Ability to prepare clear and structured technical documentation.
  • Good knowledge of Wi-Fi technologies (802.11 a/b/g/n/ac).
  • Experience configuring VLANs and QoS.
  • Experience configuring VPN solutions such as IPSec, L2TP, OpenVPN, DMVPN, and SSTP, with a solid understanding of their principles and differences.
  • At least 12 months of experience working with routers, including knowledge of 2G, 3G, and 4G networks, network authentication methods, and data session establishment.
  • Experience working with embedded, Linux-based OpenWRT operating systems.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge and ability to use AT commands.
  • Ability to write simple bash/ash scripts.
  • Knowledge of firewall principles and experience configuring firewalls using IPTABLES.
  • Experience working with industrial routers is considered an advantage.
