Network Engineer Specialist

About the Role

Effective July 1, 2025, the Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP 2025) was implemented in response to the State budget. PLP 2025 requires each full-time employee in Bargaining Unit R01, and related Excluded, Exempt, and Statutory Exempt employees, to have their base salary reduced by three percent and receive five PLP 2025 leave credits monthly through June 2027. Salaries listed do not reflect these recent changes.

Under the direction of the Information Technology (IT) Manager I, the IT Specialist I will act as a technical team member of the Enterprise Network Team, responsible for complex project, network, and infrastructure initiatives for CCHCS. This includes working on project requirements, analysis, general design, development, implementation, and maintenance of the daily operational readiness of the existing network infrastructure. The position is located at Headquarters in Elk Grove, Sacramento County (Position #042-036-1402-023).

Responsibilities

• Act as a technical team member on complex project, network, and infrastructure initiatives.
• Participate in project requirements, analysis, general design, development, implementation, and maintenance of network infrastructure.
• Maintain daily operational readiness of existing network systems.
• Maintain confidentiality of information acquired during job duties.
• Demonstrate ethical behavior and work cooperatively with others.
• Travel to institutions and provide after-hours support for CCHCS networking systems as required.
