Network Technician
About the role
The resource must collaborate with appropriate stakeholders to ensure efforts are successful. Responsibilities include executing day-to-day operational and project tasks for IDFs and MDFs, assisting with remediation and providing day two support for LVC remediations, addressing power and cooling deficiencies, managing security concerns, recommending and implementing cable plant infrastructure solutions, and performing cleaning and decommissioning tasks.
Responsibilities
- Execute day-to-day operational and project tasks for IDFs and MDFs
- Assist IT room remediation team with project tasks
- Provide day two support for LVC remediations
- Work with local real estate services and engineering to address power and cooling deficiencies
- Work with appropriate teams to address security concerns regarding IDFs and MDFs
- Recommend and implement cable plant infrastructure solutions to resolve issues
- Clean out IT rooms as needed to bring rooms to a serviceable condition
- Perform port scrubs in IDF/MDF rooms
- Decommission and coordinate removal of legacy equipment from IT rooms
- Create/Update Rack Elevations for IDFs/MDFs

Day To Day
They will be going to various sites to survey/assess the current equipment in the closets, document what’s there/create rack elevations, and assist with the remediation/clean up of the environment and/or provide operational support if something is failing. Might include removing dead cables, cleaning up the room and decomming equipment, sometimes installing new equipment or racking equipment in a frame, cabinet or on the wall, etc. Must be willing to travel (need to have their own vehicle) – majority of their travel would be through Staten Island, Manhattan and Westchester, but they could be called upon to also attend sites in the boroughs or Long Island when needed, so need to be flexible. Will be reimbursed for tolls and mileage.

Pay And Benefits
The pay range for this position is $37.00 - $45.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
