Qualifications
- Four (4) plus years of experience supporting and managing network infrastructure and network-related devices or experience as agreed with Company.
- Experienced in racking, stacking, cabling, and decommissioning of network hardware devices.
- Experienced in Site Services support for network device maintenance and support (console/remote).
- IT/Telecoms experience with routing, switching, firewalls, WiFi, IP Telephony (IPT), and Radio Frequency (RF) equipment (e.g., microwave radios, cellular nodes, and very-small-aperture terminals (VSATs)).
Responsibilities
- Respond to ServiceNow incident tickets.
- Patching cable installation and recovery.
- Installing power leads.
- Installing, removing, or swapping equipment.
- Locating and identifying network circuits and tagging the demarcation location.
- Providing escort services for Company third-party vendors or subcontractors.
- Adhering to risk management processes, including conducting walkthroughs, work permits, change management, attending safety training, and reporting incidents.
- Complying with audit requirements, information protection requirements, security requirements, and standards detailing physical access management.
- Troubleshooting and patching power cables; identifying switch port locations; pinging key devices and performing DNS lookups.
- Troubleshooting, installing, and removing equipment/components; performing visual checks for hardware failure lights, console error messages, power status, and hardware labels.
- Identifying and reporting communications room environmental issues (e.g., lack of cooling, water leaks).
- Performing IMAC (Install, Move, Add, Change) activities for end-user business LAN and voice devices.
- Adhering to Company change management procedures and practices.
- Monitoring and responding to emergency conditions affecting operations (e.g., hurricanes, earthquakes).
- Adhering to Company's Business Continuity Plans and Disaster Recovery Plans.
- Providing smart-hands support for telecommunications infrastructure, including:
- Fiber optic and copper cable installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair.
- WiFi and BLE systems.
- Microwave systems installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair.
- Radio systems (HF, VHF, UHF, 2-way, radar) installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair.
- VSAT installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair.
- Cellular-based systems (public and private 4G LTE, 5G, NB-IoT, LTE-M).
- Low-power WAN (lpWAN) systems such as LoRaWAN.
- Other IIoT/OT systems.
- Deploying prewired solar panel/battery power systems at ground level, including visual maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair.
- IP Telephony (IPT) installations at end-user locations.
- Specialty telecoms systems (CCTV, PAGA, Intercom, Fire/Intruder Alarm) installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair for remote and offshore sites.
- Working cooperatively with other organizations to restore services, including:
- Company Design and Engineering Teams.
- Global IT Service Desk.
- IT Operations Center (ITOC).
- Telecom providers.
- Managed service providers.
- Company Business Units (BUs).
- Supporting IT/Telecoms requirements for Business Units, Major Capital Projects (MCPs), and Merger, Acquisition, and Divestiture (MAD) projects as guided by the network team.
- Participating in Root Cause Analysis post-incidents as requested.
