Network & Systems Specialist
Job Summary
The Network and Systems Specialist is responsible for designing, implementing, monitoring, and managing both local and wide area networks. As part of the corporate technology team, this position serves as the on-site extension of the Infrastructure, Operations, and Enterprise Applications teams based in Marathon, WI, with a focus on ensuring maximum system uptime and user support.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Design and implement new network solutions and improve the efficiency of existing networks
- Install, configure, and support network equipment, including routers, switches, firewalls, DNS, DHCP, proxy servers, and WAN technologies
- Procure network equipment and coordinate with subcontractors for installations
- Configure firewalls, routing, and switching to optimize network performance and security
- Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues to maximize uptime
- Install, configure, and support user devices, including computers and mobile devices, along with enterprise applications
- Provide in-person and remote support, training, and administration of cloud and on-prem collaboration tools (e.g., Office 365)
- Plan and execute scheduled system upgrades
- Investigate and resolve network issues in a timely manner
- Support network administration across various IT projects
- Report on network performance and operational status
- Perform other duties as assigned

Experience & Qualifications
- Associate degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
- 5-10 years of relevant experience
- Experience with Microsoft Windows, mobile platforms (iOS), productivity tools (Office 365, SharePoint, Teams, Power Platform); Microsoft Azure / Office 365 certifications preferred
- Strong networking experience (switching, wireless, firewalls, and core networking concepts)
- Experience supporting enterprise applications (ERP/DRM/MRP) preferred
Work Environment
Work is typically performed in an indoor environment. Exposure may include: Quiet office environment
Travel required: ~20% (up to 80% during first 4 weeks for training)
Typical work hours/shifts: Typical business hours
Frequent sitting, standing, walking, bending, reaching, or handling materials/equipment
Occasional climbing, kneeling, crawling, or lifting/moving up to 25 pounds
Ability to concentrate, follow detailed instructions, communicate effectively, and safely perform job duties
May require the operation of specific tools, equipment, or vehicles associated with the position
