About the Role
This engagement provides specialized network and cyber security administration support to ensure state agencies maintain secure, compliant, and modern network infrastructures. The role focuses on mitigating operational challenges, managing hardware lifecycles, and executing critical security requests.
Responsibilities
- Review and execute Firewall Service Requests (FSRs), break-fix tickets, and formal change requests.
- Facilitate the decommissioning and refresh of End-of-Life (EOL) hardware on a recurring basis.
- Implement security controls and configurations to ensure compliance with IRS, FBI, and CJI standards.
- Perform technical configuration and management of Cisco ASA and Palo Alto firewalls.
Schedule
- Standard Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday.
- On-Call Rotation: Participation in a weekly on-call rotation to address after-hours incidents.
- After-Hours Maintenance: Availability for scheduled maintenance windows or emergency response situations outside of standard business hours.
Requirements
- Must pass criminal, financial background checks, and a drug test.
Qualifications
- Palo Alto Firewalls: Proficiency in next-generation firewall features such as zones, security policies, S2S VPN, NATing, and basic threat prevention.
- Cisco ASA Firewalls: Experience with configuration, troubleshooting, and rule management.
- General Networking: Foundational knowledge of routing protocols, subnetting, and the OSI model.
